Register with a mobile device

If you already have an account with us, you can register for digital banking using our mobile app.

1. Download the app

After agreeing to the terms and conditions, select 'Not registered' to get started.

2. Confirm your identity

Provide either your electronic banking number or your bank card number. We'll also need your contact details.

3. Create log on details

Create a username and a password. You can use these same credentials to log on to online and mobile banking.

Register on a desktop device

Prefer to register on a computer or laptop device? Select the 'Register now' button and follow the instructions on your screen.

Frequently asked questions

If you've forgotten your password for digital banking, you can reset it online.

Go to the log on page
Enter your username and select 'Continue'
Select 'Forgot password?'
Follow the on-screen instructions

Once you’ve successfully reset your password, we’ll send you a confirmation email.

If you've forgotten your username for digital banking, you can recover it online.

What you’ll need:

Social Security number
HSBC Debit or Credit Card Number
Corresponding PIN number

Go to the log on page
Select 'Forgot username?'
Follow the on-screen instructions

Once you have a new device, the steps to set up a new Digital Security Device are:

Open the mobile app
Enter your username
Select an option to verify it's you - either by entering a security code from an existing device or your password and a one-time activation code received by SMS/text or email
Follow the steps to complete the chosen action
Create and confirm your new Digital Secure Device PIN
You can now log on to the mobile app using the Digital Secure Device PIN you've just created

Note: Once you have set up your Digital Security Device PIN, you can set up access to the app on up to 3 different devices. Simply follow the above steps on each device.

You can view a full list of your devices using the mobile app or online banking.

Mobile banking app:

Log on and select the 'Profile' tab at the top of the screen
Select ‘Security’, then ‘Manage Devices’ and you’ll see a full list of devices that you’ve set up

Online banking:

Log on and select ‘My HSBC’ in the menu at the top of the screen
Choose ‘Security’, then ‘Manage my Security Device’
At the bottom of the list of options, you’ll see ‘Security devices’ with your devices listed
